The show returns from a month-long hiatus with an episode that in a way serves as a preview of things to come for the rest of its 3rd season. Barry attempts to travel to the year 2024 to try to get answers concerning Savitar. I was hoping we would find out about the Crisis that the headlines refer to.
As Barry arrives in 2024, he sees that Team Flash have disbanded over the death of Iris with his future self long-haired and broken, Julian doing research on an island with a captured Caitlin, Cisco losing his hand, HR Wells doing some romantic novel play, and Joe West likely quitting the police force. Barry tries to return to the past, but couldn’t because Cisco wants him to stay.
As Barry reunites Team Flash to take on Mirror Master and his girlfriend, his future self suits up with an upgraded suit to even the odds. I hope Barry wears that new suit sooner than later.
Barry had no trouble going to the past, but why would he need Wally’s help in going to the future? Also would a stasis cuffs work on Caitlin now that she’s Killer Frost? We still don’t know who Savitar is yet and I wonder how long did they plan this.
They’re taunting and teasing viewers with Iris’ death, which deep down they will not go through with it as they feel her relationship with Barry is central to the series. They need something for Iris to do concerning her job as news reporter and not be in Star Labs all the time.
