Gorilla Grodd returns in this episode as he takes on Flash in the telepathy mind realm, where we also see King Solivar as the two gorillas battle. If this is how they focus on Barry after the Iris stuff, they’re doing it the wrong way. They still don’t know what to do with him in the post-Crisis world. Despite having Gorilla Grodd and King Solivar, the focus wasn’t on Barry. It was still on Iris.
While Barry has his villains of the week with Grodd, they’re panning out this Mirrorverse arc with Iris where she’s still there with Eva McCulloch, whom we find out has been working with Iris’ mirror duplicate all along despite her playing victim act. Let’s not forget that Iris and her mirror duplicate are separate characters, entities. If this is their way of progressing Iris as a character, they’re doing it the wrong way. It’s not really character progression, but rather a way around it using a twin.
An okay episode that I don’t care much for since Crisis ended.
