Farewell Sir Sean Connery 1930-2020

Legendary actor Sir Sean Connery passed away at the age of 90 in his home at Bahamas. Born in Scotland, he was involved in smaller theater and television productions before being cast as the first James Bond and would go on to do 7 films. He set the standard of who and what James Bond is about. Connery would go on to do more films such as Murder On The Orient Express, A Bridge Too Far, The Name of the Rose, Highlander, Man Who Would Be King, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, Untouchables, and The Rising Sun among others.

He received many accolades such as an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor, Golden Globes For Best Supporting Actor, and the British Film Institute For Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor, and Fellowship. He also received the American Film Institute’s Lifetime Achievement Award, where he announced his retirement from acting in 2006. Connery was knighted by the UK in 2000.

He is survived by his first and second wife and his son Jason, who is an actor in his own right that appeared in the Smallville TV series. Connery’s contributions to the film and TV world are cemented and will be missed by all worldwide.
