Farewell Heath 1968-2023

X-Japan bassist Heath has passed away at the age of 55 from his battle with cancer. He is the third member of X-Japan to pass away after the deaths of Hide and Taiji in 1998 and 2011 respectively. Heath joined X-Japan in 1992 replacing Taiji and was part of the group’s near half-hour epic called Art of Life. He also played in the 1996 album Dahlia and played in many of the group’s singles, including their most recent one Angel. Heath was with X-Japan until their disbandment in 1997 and their reunion in 2007. Heath had been battling health issues since the beginning of this year and didn’t tell the group about it until his passing when Yoshiki skipped an awards ceremony to pay his respects. Heath’s contributions to X-Japan and visual kei are cemented and he will be missed greatly by all.
